Laptop Printing Options in Goddard Library (Now avail. for WSU-R)

 As of September 30, 2010 the following is the status for printing from laptops within Goddard Library: 

1.  WSU-R leased laptops -  Wireless printing is available and working with laptop printers on first and second floors of the Goddard Building.   See #5 below for printer locations.

2.  WSU-R leased laptops - Printing via a network cable is also available  (If using a network cable the laptop must also be registered for the UCR network.  Contact WSU-R computer support in the TSC on first floor to register the leased laptop). 
                                   
3.  WSU-R student owned laptops - Wireless printing is available and working with laptop printers on all three floors of the Goddard Building.  You must register your computer with WSU-R computer support in the TSC to enable wireless printing.

4.  RCTC student owned laptops - cannot print via either cable nor wireless connection to the network.  RCTC students should copy files to a flash drive and print via a computer in the LTC or email the document to yourself as an attachment and print on an LTC computer.  RCTC IT staff are working to enable wireless printing later this Fall Semester.

5.  Laptop Printer Locations in Goddard - printers for laptops are located in the Goddard Library Building on 1st floor in the louge/waiting area near the TSC Help Desk and on second floor near the copy machines and Media Room.

This information only applies to printing issues.  All UCR students can connect to the wireless network in Goddard Library for other uses...

New Streaming Video Collection Added to Goddard Library

Goddard library has added “Films on Demand” a collection of over 6,000 educational streaming videos to the library collection from Films Media Group (Films for the Humanities). The videos were added to the library collection on Monday, January 11, 2010 and are available for immediate use.

These videos can stream to all campus computers and via the library proxy server and D2L to off-campus computers. Use of the videos is licensed for the UCR campus including all RCTC and WSU-Rochester students, faculty, and staff. This includes distance education students taking on-line classes taught by RCTC and WSU-R faculty. The license prohibits downloading, or use of the videos by anyone other than registered students, faculty, and staff from the UCR campus.
