DATABASE TRIAL

The library is fortunate to have the Ebsco Special Manuscript Collections on trial through January 31.  This fascinating database contains digital versions of rare archival content and historical primary sources such as books, periodicals, newspapers, pamphlets, broadsides, manuscripts, diaries, government documents, and ephemera.  The collections included are African American Archives, Native American Archives, Revolutionary War Archives, World War II Archives, and U.S. Bureau of Investigation (now known as the FBI) Case Files.  Researchers have the rare opportunity to view all of the typography, graphics and drawings as they were originally presented.  Since we have an extended trial period, there is plenty of time to peruse this exciting resource.  From the library website, simply click on "Find Articles and More..", then below to the right, click on "Trial Database Offerings" and you're good to go!

EBSCOHOST DATABASES NOW AVAILABLE ON MOBILE DEVICES!

The Ebscohost research databases are among the most popular databases the library offers.  Ebsco has now made it very easy to access Academic Search Premier, CINAHL Plus with Full Text and others directly from your smart phone, iPad, or whatever your mobile device of choice is!  Simply visit an Ebscohost search page and click on "New:  EBSCOhost IPhone and Android Applications" at the bottom of the page.  You will be given the opportunity to type in your email adress, and the instructions will be sent to you.  You are required to download the app from the iTunes Store or Google Play.  View the email on your device, then tap this authentication key.  Please note that you must access the link in your email from your device; the activation link will expire in 24 hours.  Once you are authenticated, the app can be used for nine months, after which you must resend yourself a new authentication key from the Ebscohost interface.  Click "settings" to display the list of databases to search.  The default is that all of the Ebsco databases are selected.  If you have any questions, visit the support page or send an email to support@ebsco.com.  You may now access any or all Ebscohost databases the library subscribes to, directly from your mobile device without having to log in!
