NEW BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY!

The Goddard Library adds new books to its collection every week!  Take a look at the latest on the New Book Display in front of the Circulation Desk.  Some of the titles we currently have on display are Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher, by Pulitzer Prize winning writer for the New York Times and National Book Award winner Timothy Egan; The Most of Nora Ephron, by Nora Ephron; Ann Patchett's This is the Story of a Happy Marriage; Rise to Greatness: Abraham Lincoln and America's Most Perilous Year, by David Von Drehle; Wally Lamb's new novel We Are Water;  Dr. Sleep, by Stephen King; Cooking at Home With the Culinary Institute of America, and Amy Tan's much-anticipated new novel The Valley of Amazement.  Take a book home for the winter break!

MERGENT INTELLECT: TRIAL DATABASE

The Goddard Library has the database Mergent Intellect on trial through December 31.  Mergent Intellect features an in-depth collection of worldwide business information that enables companies to generate insightful business intelligence.  Mergent has partnered with Dunn and Bradstreet's private company database, and is providing access to private and public U.S. and international business data, industry news, facts and figures, executive contact information, the ability to access industry profiles and much more.  To access Mergent Intellect, visit the Goddard Library website and click on "Find Articles and More...", then click on "Trial Database Offerings."  Mergent Intellect is the first one listed.  Feel free to let us know what you think!

STUDY ROOMS IN GODDARD LIBRARY

With the end of fall semester quickly approaching, we would like to remind students, faculty,and staff of the availability of study rooms in Goddard Library.  We have seven group study rooms which will accommodate up to six people.  The rooms are for small group discussion and quiet study.  Rooms may be reserved up to two weeks in advance with a UCR ID card, for a maximum of two consecutive hours. Study rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions and other equipment.  Rooms are available for use during all 79 hours the library is open each week.  To reserve a study room, simply visit the Goddard Library website and use the "Study Rooms" tab to the left of the screen.
