Did you know Goddard Library has over 90 databases?

Goddard Library has over 90 online databases.  Most databases will help you locate scholarly journal articles from thousands of journals in full-text.  Some of the databases have collections of music, videos, art images, government documents, poetry, newspapers, and statistics.   Virtually none of these materials are available via a Google search and the "free" Internet.

Deciding which database(s) to use can be a challenge.  To help, Goddard librarians have identified databases that are especially helpful for the subject area of your research.  These recommendations are found in the "Research Quick Start" section of the library home page.  For example, if you are doing research in the area of Biology, librarians have identified four of the ninety databases that will be especially helpful to find resources for Biology (click on "Research Quick Start", highlight "Biology", and click on "submit" to see the recommended databases and other information for researching Biology).

For WSU-R students, Goddard Library has some databases that Krueger Library does not have and Krueger has several databases that Goddard does not.  If you don't find materials you need in the Goddard collection, we recommend that you also check the collection at Krueger Library (login with your WSU network/email user name and password).

While scholarly research may include the use of Google to search the "free" Internet, scholarly research must include the use of peer reviewed and scholarly materials available from academic libraries.  Goddard Library subscribes to these databases to enable unlimited access both on and off campus for RCTC and WSU-R students, staff, and faculty.

If you are having difficulty locating the materials you need for your research, ask for research help at the Library Reference Desk, by phone (536-5387), or use the Ask a Librarian button on the library homepage...
